Position Overview:
Menehune Water is seeking a reliable, hands-on Facilities Technician to join our Maintenance team. This position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled building maintenance and repair tasks to keep assigned buildings, facilities, grounds, and equipment orderly, clean, sanitary, safe, and secure. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently across multiple trades, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting, to ensure all related systems and equipment operate effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Repair and maintain building structures, furniture, and equipment; install cabinets, partitions, carpets, ceiling panels, doors, and locks as needed Perform electrical repairs such as replacing switches, wiring, and light fixtures Paint building interiors and exteriors, as well as furniture, concrete, and other surfaces Estimate materials, labor, and time needed for projects, and order parts and supplies as needed Regularly inspect facilities for security, safety, or repair needs and take appropriate corrective action Respond to facility emergencies during off-duty hours as needed Maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, and sanitation of assigned facilities and grounds Operate hand and power tools and equipment safely and appropriately for assigned tasks Perform other duties as assigned by the Distribution Manager .
Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments and carry out work independently Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and specifications (structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems), as well as maintenance repair manuals Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, electrical wiring, painting, and carpet/flooring installation and repair Knowledge of safe working procedures and practices Ability to operate hand and power tools and equipment used in performing assigned duties Ability to physically perform assigned duties, including lifting, climbing, and working in varied conditions Ability to work with minimum supervision High school diploma or GED required Specialized training in building maintenance preferred, with two years of experience in building maintenance or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Valid driver's license preferred
