Maintenance Job Summary La Quinta Inn & Suites is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Technician to help maintain the hotel, guest rooms, equipment, and property in excellent working condition. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing routine repairs, preventative maintenance, responding to guest and staff maintenance requests, and helping ensure the hotel remains safe, clean, and comfortable. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff. Repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, toilets, sinks, faucets, and drains. Perform basic electrical repairs, including replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, and bulbs. Inspect and maintain heating and air-conditioning equipment. Complete minor drywall, painting, caulking, and wall repairs. Repair doors, locks, furniture, appliances, and other hotel equipment. Perform preventative maintenance in guest rooms and common areas. Inspect guest rooms for maintenance issues and correct problems before rooms are placed back into service. Maintain hotel exterior areas, parking lots, sidewalks, and entrances. Assist with basic pool maintenance when needed. Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, and storage areas in a clean and organized condition. Monitor hotel equipment and report major repair needs to management. Follow all hotel safety procedures and OSHA guidelines. Maintain accurate records of repairs and preventative maintenance. Work with outside contractors and vendors when necessary. Assist other hotel departments when needed. Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with guests. Be available for emergency maintenance situations when scheduled. Qualifications Previous hotel, apartment, building, or general maintenance experience preferred. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repairs. Ability to troubleshoot and solve maintenance problems. Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely. Strong attention to detail. Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests. Valid driver's license preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work on ladders. Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in different weather conditions. Schedule Schedule may include weekdays, weekends, holidays, and occasional emergency or on-call maintenance depending on hotel needs.
