Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of building systems and equipment to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and staff. Your expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and facilities maintenance will help uphold the highest standards of property condition and operational efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a dynamic hospitality setting while delivering exceptional service. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, electrical equipment, plumbing, and mechanical installations to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and tools such as ohmmeters to diagnose issues accurately. Conduct HVAC system repairs, including servicing air conditioning units, heating systems, ventilation fans, and ductwork to maintain comfortable indoor environments. Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs on pipes, fixtures, drains, and water systems to prevent leaks and ensure proper functioning. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to complete repairs or installations efficiently. Lead building interior maintenance tasks such as painting (including residential painting), carpentry repairs, drywall patching, and facilities equipment upkeep. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs performed, schematics used, and parts inventory for operational transparency. Collaborate with team members to prioritize work orders and respond promptly to guest requests or emergency situations with professionalism and customer service excellence. Requirements Proven experience in facilities maintenance or building engineering within a hospitality or commercial environment. Strong electrical experience including repair of electrical equipment and understanding of electrical schematics. Mechanical knowledge with expertise in HVAC system repair, plumbing system maintenance & repair, carpentry, welding, and general facilities equipment upkeep. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, Ohmmeters, hand tools, power tools and maintenance painting techniques. Ability to troubleshoot complex issues using technical manuals and diagrams efficiently. Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team collaboration. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to guide junior staff or coordinate maintenance projects effectively. Knowledge of safety protocols related to electrical work, plumbing repairs, welding operations, HVAC systems, and general building maintenance.
