Fix It. Maintain It. Keep the Facility Moving. Are you the person who can look at something that's broken and figure out how to fix it? Do you enjoy working with your hands, tackling different projects and seeing the results of your work? We're looking for a skilled and dependable General Maintenance - BuildingGrounds team member to help keep our manufacturing facility safe, functional, efficient and looking its best. This is not a one-task maintenance job. You'll work across the facility handling everything from building repairs, painting, carpentry and plumbing to welding, equipment maintenance, machining and seasonal grounds work. One day you may be repairing drywall or troubleshooting equipment, and the next you could be welding a repair, operating a mill or lathe, or preparing the property for winter weather. If you have strong mechanical aptitude, welding skills and a get-it-done approach, this is an opportunity to put a broad range of skills to work. What You'll Do As part of our Maintenance team, you'll take ownership of a variety of facility, grounds and equipment maintenance needs. You'll perform preventative and corrective repairs, troubleshoot problems and help make sure employees have a safe and well-maintained environment to work in.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Perform a variety of building maintenance and repair projects, including interior and exterior painting, surface preparation, drywall repair, patching, minor carpentry, basic plumbing and minor electrical work within your training and qualifications. Troubleshoot facility and equipment problems, identify potential causes and determine or recommend appropriate repairs and corrective actions. Perform welding, light fabrication and machining work using equipment such as lathes, mills, drill presses, saws and power tools. Assist with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and basic repair of industrial and commercial equipment to help minimize downtime and keep operations running efficiently. Maintain the interior and exterior of the facility through floor care, general upkeep, lawn and landscape maintenance, shrub trimming and other building and grounds projects. Handle seasonal responsibilities, including snow removal, ice control and salting to keep walkways, entrances and parking areas safe and accessible. Safely operate tools and equipment, properly use required PPE and follow established safety procedures, including SDS/MSDS and chemical-handling requirements. Prioritize maintenance requests and projects, manage multiple assignments and complete work accurately and on schedule. Maintain clean and organized maintenance areas, properly care for tools and equipment and complete required maintenance documentation. Work independently on assigned projects while collaborating with Maintenance, Production and other departments to respond to facility needs. Other duties as required. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who 1-2 years of experience in maintenance, mechanical, machinist, industrial/commercial painting, carpentry or related hands-on work preferred. Experience maintaining, troubleshooting or repairing industrial or commercial equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose problems and identify practical solutions. Working knowledge of electrical systems, electrical circuits, hand tools and power tools. Ability to perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall and general facility repairs. Welding experience or the ability to perform basic welding tasks is preferred. Experience or aptitude for working with lathes, mills, drill presses, saws and similar equipment. Strong understanding of workplace safety, PPE, chemical handling and
SDS/MSDS
requirements. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple maintenance projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Dependable, self-motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing quality work. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn new equipment, maintenance processes and computer systems. Ability to work well in a diverse environment.
Additional Requirements:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide documentation establishing identity and employment eligibility as required by federal law. Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
