This position ia a year round position and will work 4 days a week. This does allow for flexibility in schedule and work hours within the hours of 7am - 5pm. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Employment experience working with building/grounds/maintenance experience. Knowledge, skills, and ability to assist with maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment. Ability to identify problems and offer solutions for correction. Ability to qualify for appropriate certifications, i.e. lift truck, lock out/tag out, confined spaces, etc. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with others. Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently and to multitask as necessary. Ability to understand and follow manufacturers' manuals. Valid driver's license.
General Summary:
Maintain the upkeep of Agency building, grounds, and equipment. Facilitate a safe work environment and respond to work orders and security issues. Essential Functions ℜsponsibilities: Maintenance and upkeep of Agency buildings, grounds, and equipment. Complete building repair and grounds maintenance as assigned, i.e. carpentry projects, furniture/equipment repair, lawn mowing, snow removal, etc. Assure that all needed maintenance and repairs are completed in a cost efficient and timely basis following federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including (OSHA, EPA, lock out/tag out, confined spaces, etc.). Assist with prioritizing and completing work orders from staff. Move and assemble furniture. Operate forklift, tractor, vehicles, and other equipment. Obtain necessary licenses or certificates to fulfill job duties. Respond to security calls and other emergency situations at owned properties and regional offices. Work overtime when required - snow removal, emergencies, security alarm calls, repair projects, etc. Prepare conference rooms for meetings at Halverson Center. Perform custodial duties as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Regular attendance is required. Ability to operate vehicles and equipment, including a lift truck. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Good concentration and visual skills required. Ability to work flexible hours. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and in confined spaces. Normal, routine levels of activity related to bending, carrying, hearing, lifting, reaching, sitting, standing, vision, walking and climbing ladders for an extended period of time and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that can't always be anticipated. Ability to travel within assigned schools Requires good eye/hand/finger coordination to keyboard and to operate office machines. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Good concentration and visual skills required. Normal, routine levels of activity related to bending, carrying, hearing, lifting, reaching, sitting, standing, vision and walking and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that can't always be anticipated.
