Job Overview We are a fast-paced printing company in Davenport, IA. We are seeking a dynamic and skilled 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician / Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating production equipment and machinery, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical systems, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise will help maintain our safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing environment. Responsibilities As Maintenance Technician, you will work closely with our Maintenance Lead to monitor calibration systems and the reliability of our systems, while planning for and completing preventive & predictive maintenance. As Machine Operator, you will be responsible for work performed in the finishing area including cut, trim, coil punch & bind, large fold, case-binding, Duplo, 3-kniftrimmer, Auto drill and off-line perfect binding. In addition, you will operate saddle stitching equipment and provide support to the digital roll-fed engines as needed. This position will be certified to set-up and operate all equipment related to the above functions and activities. Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols and standard operating procedures. Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and scheduled repairs on machinery using precision measuring instruments, schematics, and electrical blueprints. Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic components, programmable logic controllers, and mechanical issues to minimize downtime. Utilize company systems to document work orders, maintenance history, and equipment status updates. Conduct electrical diagnostics using voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other testing tools Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, switches, relays, sensors, or wiring harnesses; perform stick welding or welding as needed for equipment repair. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while ensuring compliance with safety standards related to electrical maintenance, high voltage work, and industrial mechanics. Qualifications Proven experience working in a manufacturing facility or industrial maintenance environment with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, schematics, electrical blueprints, voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and analysis tools. Hands-on experience with equipment troubleshooting including hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, HVAC/R systems, and industrial electrician skills. Skilled in electrical diagnostics including reading schematics and troubleshooting electrical systems at both low voltage and high voltage levels. Ability to operate scissor lifts or other aerial work platforms safely; familiarity with industrial safety standards is essential. Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices such as equipment repair using welding techniques (stick welding), hydraulic system troubleshooting, and pneumatic system analysis. Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities in English; capable of working independently or as part of a team. Relevant certifications preferred but not required.
