Job Description

  • Job Title: Maintenance Technician
  • Job Description
  • This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing and facility equipment in a fast-paced production environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems, and support safe and reliable operation of production lines and facility infrastructure.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on manufacturing and facility equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

+ Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to restore equipment to safe and efficient operation.

+ Diagnose and repair electrical systems from 24V to 480VAC, including work with PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs).

+ Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to plan and complete maintenance and repair tasks.

+ Install, maintain, and modify production, automation, and facility equipment such as motors, drives, wiring, HVAC systems, compressed air systems, and dust collection systems.

+ Fabricate and repair parts using hand tools, shop equipment, and welding equipment to support equipment reliability and improvement projects.

+ Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to complete work orders, record findings, and document repairs and parts usage.

+ Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout (LOTO), and

NFPA 70E

electrical safety standards.

+ Communicate effectively with equipment operators, supervisors, and engineering teams to understand issues, coordinate repairs, and share status updates.

+ Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned to support overall plant operations.

  • Essential Skills
  • + Must have a 2-year technical degree OR a minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance.

+ Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

+ Hands-on experience with PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), AC and DC motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

+ Ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems from 24V to 480VAC.

+ Knowledge of conveyor systems, material handling equipment, and dust collection systems.

+ Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, electrical test equipment, and lift equipment.

+ Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

+ Experience performing preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment.

+ Capability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

+ Basic computer skills to use email, documentation tools, and maintenance software.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming support is preferred.

+ Experience working with three-phase electrical systems.

+ MIG welding experience; machining experience is a plus.

+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications for basic documentation and communication.

+ Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is preferred.

+ Comfort working with HVAC, compressed air, and dust collection systems.

+ Strong communication skills to collaborate with operators, supervisors, and engineering staff.

+ Attention to detail and strong commitment to safety practices, including PPE, LOTO, and electrical safety standards.

  • Work Environment
  • This role is based in a food-grade manufacturing facility that follows Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.

Team members must wear all required GMP-related protective gear, which includes items such as hair nets and beard nets, and no visible jewelry is allowed while on the production floor. The position typically works a 1st shift, 2nd shift or 3rd shift. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with regular use of hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and lift equipment around production and facility systems.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $66331.20 - $77043.20/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
