Job Description

Position Summary Group Schumacher North America is seeking a hands-on, dependable Maintenance Technician to support our Durant manufacturing facility. This position plays a critical role in keeping our equipment, machinery, and facility operating safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver who enjoys troubleshooting, takes ownership of their work, and is comfortable working independently while partnering with production and leadership. A solid working knowledge of electrical systems and electrical troubleshooting is required for this position. What You'll Do Perform preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on production equipment and facility systems. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime. Diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate repair solutions. Perform facility maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, welding, cutting, and component replacement. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and circuit drawings. Set up and operate welders, drill presses, grinders, hand tools, and other maintenance equipment. Assist with the installation, rebuilding, relocation, and modification of machinery and equipment. Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, scissor lifts, and other material-handling equipment as needed. Develop, perform, and continually improve preventative maintenance activities. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records. Coordinate with outside contractors, vendors, service providers, production employees, and leadership. Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, and operating costs. Follow all company safety standards, policies, and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Bring Working knowledge of industrial and facility electrical systems and the ability to safely troubleshoot electrical issues is required. Strong mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting and repairing machinery. Ability to read electrical diagrams, circuit drawings, hydraulic schematics, and mechanical drawings. Experience with preventative maintenance and equipment repair. Working knowledge of welding, fabrication, plumbing, and general facility maintenance. Ability to identify problems, determine root causes, and implement effective repairs. Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance needs while minimizing production interruptions. Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels. Previous manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience preferred. What Success Looks Like Equipment downtime is minimized through timely troubleshooting and effective repairs. Preventative maintenance is completed consistently and documented accurately. Maintenance issues are addressed proactively rather than repeatedly repaired. Safety is prioritized in every repair and project. Production teams have a responsive, knowledgeable maintenance partner they can rely on. Facility and equipment improvement opportunities are identified and communicated.
