OnTrack Overhead Doors, LLC is looking for an experienced Overhead Door Technician to join our growing team. We are looking for more than someone who has simply worked around garage doors. We want an experienced technician who knows the trade, takes pride in their work, can diagnose problems, and is capable of working independently with minimal training. This position is best suited for someone who can hit the ground running and requires little day-to-day supervision. What We're Looking For Previous professional experience in the overhead/garage door industry is required Experience with both residential and/or commercial overhead doors Strong knowledge of garage door installation, repair, and troubleshooting Ability to diagnose problems and determine the proper repair rather than simply replacing parts Experience with torsion and extension springs, cables, rollers, drums, tracks, hinges, sections, and other door components Experience installing and troubleshooting garage door operators/openers Ability to properly adjust and balance doors Comfortable working from ladders, lifts, and at various heights Able to work independently and make good decisions in the field Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Dependable, punctual, and willing to work hard Professional appearance and attitude when dealing with customers Good communication and customer service skills Valid driver's license and a good driving record Able to safely lift and handle heavy materials and equipment Able to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions What We Expect The right person for this position should already understand the basics of the overhead door trade. This is not an entry-level position. We are willing to explain how we do things at OnTrack, but we are looking for someone who already has the experience and knowledge necessary to perform the job with minimal training and supervision. You should be able to arrive at a job, assess the situation, determine what needs to be done, communicate with the customer when necessary, and complete the work correctly and safely. We are looking for someone who: Shows up ready to work Takes ownership of their work Does the job right the first time Doesn't cut corners Can troubleshoot problems in the field Treats customers and coworkers with respect Takes pride in representing the company Is willing to continue learning and improving their skills Job Responsibilities Install residential and commercial overhead doors Service and repair existing overhead doors Diagnose mechanical and operational problems Repair or replace springs, cables, rollers, hinges, drums, tracks, sections, and other components Install, repair, and troubleshoot garage door openers/operators Properly adjust and balance doors Perform routine maintenance and inspections Safely operate ladders and lifts Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and job site Communicate professionally with customers Complete jobs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship Follow company safety procedures and job requirements Document completed work and any additional issues found The Right Person We are looking for a hard-working, experienced technician who takes pride in what they do. If you have several years of overhead door experience, can diagnose and repair problems without needing someone standing over your shoulder, and want to work for a company that values quality workmanship, reliability, and doing things right, we want to hear from you. If you have little or no overhead door experience and are looking for someone to teach you the trade from the ground up, this position is probably not the right fit.
