Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Job Summary Under general supervision, performs a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, and equipment. Responsible for standard maintenance duties and the continued operation of equipment in the plant.
Position Details:
Full-time 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Monday - Friday (occasional overtime and weekends) Oelwein, IA Duties and essential job functions Performs a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment. Perform skilled mechanical/electrical work to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, repair, modify, and install machinery, and equipment, in an industrial laundry facility. Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair machinery and equipment. Operate machinery and equipment to determine the cause and extent of component or system failure. Dismantle defective machines and equipment, replace defective parts and motors and equipment and tools. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, and grease gun or other appropriate tools and/or equipment. Troubleshoot, operate, maintain and/or repair all boilers, heaters, pumps, and valves. Troubleshoot, operate, maintain and/or repair electrical and wiring systems. Complete all assigned work orders and perform preventive maintenance to prolong the life of equipment. Operate all equipment and/or machinery correctly and safely at all times. Observe established safety guidelines at all times. Assist outside vendors and/or contractors by providing information or lending assistance. Special projects and other duties as assigned. This position requires regular and reliable attendance. Minimum requirements 1-2 years experience in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair preferred. Some experience with high voltage, hydraulics, pneumatics, and general knowledge in a production environment with automated equipment. Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and detail oriented. Physical demands may or may not include the following: the ability to continuously stand, bend, rotate trunk, reach out and/or up, lift and/or carry, climbing, and grasping. Must also be able to lift up to 60 lbs.Physical Job Functions:
