SKILLED MAINTENANCE

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Assists in the general maintenance and upkeep of the overall building and grounds of the assigned facility. Repairs systems and equipment, assists in preventive maintenance procedures. Strong mechanical background. Responsible for maintaining correct safety standards. Takes call during non-working hours on a rotating basis to ensure continuous service to the facility. Participates in performance improvement activities.
JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities: High School graduate or equivalent combined with appropriate experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a building trades capacity preferred. Must have valid drivers' license and proof of insurability. Training or equivalent experience in one or more areas preferred: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, reading blueprints, boiler operation and mechanics. Ability to read, comprehend and communicate effectively in English. Ability to read mechanical or construction information and apply to his/her work. Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple work duties. Knowledge of tools, test equipment, and general maintenance responsibilities preferred. Decision-making and problems solving skills related to the duties and functions within this job description. Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team. Strong Mechanical and HVAC aptitude.
