PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Maintenance Technician is required to assist any and all personnel within the facility in the completion of any maintenance tasks and in assisting manufacturing in the common goal of quality products.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To work closely with all maintenance personnel and complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion. Follow through on instructions from the maintenance team leader. To assist any and all personnel within the shop in regard to the completion of any maintenance tasks. To see that the shop and its equipment is maintained and kept in good working order. Maintenance Technicians are required to work overtime when the job requires it. The maintenance technician will maintain knowledge of chemicals (hazardous and non-hazardous) that he comes in contact with during his job. He will seek out this knowledge by contacting the proper safety and environmental personnel. Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor It is the responsibility of all maintenance personnel to provide a basic set of tools and tool holder or bag. These tools should be with the technician at all times when performing maintenance functions. The basic set of tools should include, at a minimum, the following: Phillips screw drivers Flat head screw drivers Crescent wrench Set of metric Allen wrenches Set of SAE Allen wrenches Set of channel lock pliers Set of needle nose pliers Tape measure Diagonal cutting pliers Flashlight Small Knife Tool holder or tool bag

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE

Perform the basic skills required in the most professional manner. Follow through on instructions from more senior personnel in completion of their tasks. Assistance to the maintenance group and co-workers in the completion of daily tasks. Support of a team environment Attendance Safety Job knowledge Attitude/Dedication Housekeeping

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Working and functional knowledge of the following with the ability to demonstrate any of the requirements to the satisfaction of the Maintenance Manager, and the needs of the facility. Hydraulics Basic electrical skills and safety. Welding fundamentals Basic math skills. Good verbal and written skills

Note:

Some qualifications may be waived at the discretion of the Department Manager.

SCOPE AND IMPACT OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Maintenance Technician position requires that they perform their duties in the most professional manner and be willing to take instruction from the more senior maintenance personnel. It is the maintenance technician's responsibility to progress and increase their knowledge in this field of work. This position should allow the maintenance tech to work towards the Sr. Maintenance Technician position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Excellent health and physical condition. Jobs consist of repetitive motion with good range of motion involving bending, standing, walking, stooping, reaching and prolonged standing. Physical requirement of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Personal protective equipment required for particular jobs. Must be able to work in close proximity to high temperature molds and materials (290°F

•450°F). Must have forklift and valid driver license to operate company vehicles. Some telephone usage required.

MENTAL/VISUAL

Communication

•written/verbal skills, basic computer skills. Ability to work in stressful situations. Ability to recognize and respond to dangerous situations. Ability to work on own without daily instructions or constant supervision. Must be able to communicate both verbal and written.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Will be required to work in plant

•factory environment where there is some exposure to noise, dust, glass fibers, fumes, and heat. Must adhere to PPE requirements as defined in the safety manual when in the manufacturing area.
