ASAP Job Summary We are hiring an experienced Maintenance Technician for a manufacturing/production environment in Chicago. This is a hands-on maintenance role focused on mechanical troubleshooting, equipment repair, preventive maintenance, and machinery reliability . The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining industrial or production equipment and be comfortable working with mechanical systems, motors, pneumatic equipment, hand and power tools, basic electrical wiring, pipe fitting, and equipment repairs . Candidates with backgrounds such as Industrial Maintenance Technician, Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, Industrial Mechanic, or Manufacturing Maintenance are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain production machinery and mechanical equipment. Inspect equipment while operating to identify mechanical problems and potential failures. Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance to reduce equipment downtime. Disassemble and reassemble machinery and replace worn, damaged, or defective components. Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and testing instruments to complete maintenance work. Perform basic grinding, cutting, brazing, and fabrication as required. Troubleshoot and repair small motors and other mechanical components. Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and wiring. Assist with pneumatic systems, pipe fitting, and mechanical equipment connections . Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when servicing or repairing equipment. Follow hot work permit procedures when performing cutting, grinding, brazing, or other hot work. Safely handle and unload hazardous materials into designated storage vessels according to established procedures. Inspect equipment and identify parts, components, tools, and materials required for repairs. Maintain adequate inventory of maintenance parts, tools, and supplies and communicate replenishment needs. Document completed maintenance work, equipment issues, repairs, and follow-up requirements. Communicate equipment problems and preventive maintenance needs with production personnel and other members of the maintenance team. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance area. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable workplace regulations. Perform other maintenance duties as assigned. Requirements Previous hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair skills. Experience using hand tools and power tools . Working knowledge of mechanical systems and machinery maintenance . Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and troubleshooting . Basic pipe fitting experience. Experience with small motor repair . Ability to perform basic grinding, cutting, and brazing . Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Familiarity with hot work permits and safety procedures . Ability to read equipment information, identify mechanical issues, and determine appropriate repairs. Strong attention to workplace safety.
