  • 2nd Shift | Burr Ridge, IL (Onsite role with occasional travel to a nearby production facility) We are currently hiring for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a fast-growing, high-impact manufacturing team on the 2nd shift .

Role:
The Maintenance Technician will provide hands-on maintenance and performance support for large-scale food manufacturing equipment. This includes performing repairs, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general facility upkeep across both locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and maintain cooking, packaging, and bagging equipment (conveyors, kettles, poppers, VFFS, product scales, coding systems, and inspection equipment) Perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment failures and downtime Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues Safely work on electrical systems up to high voltage (including thermocouples, heating elements, temperature controllers, VFDs, motors, and photo eyes) Run conduit to and from motor control panels TIG weld stainless steel and solder copper pipe (highly valued) Handle general facility repairs (painting, lighting, pallet racking, etc.) Identify and execute improvement projects to increase throughput and reduce downtime Read and interpret drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders Utilize a CMMS system to document all work Follow Lean manufacturing principles and strong GMP/food safety standards Collaborate effectively with production teams, managers, and other technicians
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in a maintenance role (manufacturing environment preferred) Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to use a multimeter and basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge Experience reading drawings and equipment manuals Proficient with hand tools and basic computer skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of GMPs and food safety guidelines Food manufacturing experience is a plus
Ideal Skill Set:
TIG welding (stainless steel) and copper pipe soldering experience OSHA 10 or 30 certification Welding certification NFPA 70e certification PLC experience (Allen Bradley or similar)
