Maintenance Electrician $39 Job Description We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial electrical and electronic systems on production and plant equipment. The role includes analyzing, repairing, and programming programmable logic controller systems and microprocessor-based controls. You will also troubleshoot and repair various electrical components and design electrical control panels with a focus on safety and cost-effectiveness. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair alternating-current and direct-current motors, motor drives, solid-state controls, power boards, and analog circuits. Interpret, create, and update electrical schematics, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and control-panel documentation. Design, lay out, wire, install, and modify electrical control panels using industry standards. Install and repair plant electrical equipment, including power and control wiring, motors, controllers, lighting, cycle timers, temperature controllers, and pressure controllers. Use diagnostic instruments like voltmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes to evaluate system performance and identify electrical failures. Support mechanical maintenance activities, equipment changeovers, rebuilds, and component replacement. Provide technical guidance and hands-on training to maintenance team members. Complete all work in compliance with electrical codes, lockout/tagout requirements, and safety standards. Essential Skills 3+ years of maintenance technician/electrician experience. Experience working up to 480 volts. Hands-on industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Ability to troubleshoot three-phase power and various AC/DC systems. Experience with programmable logic controllers, microprocessor-based controls, and relay ladder logic. Ability to read, interpret, develop, and modify electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Proficiency using electrical test equipment such as voltmeters and ammeters. Working knowledge of electrical codes and safe electrical work procedures. Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Own tools and knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics. Experience with plastics, thermoforming, or extrusion is a plus. Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting.
