Van Rooy Properties is currently hiring for a skilled maintenance technician at Meadowlark Townhomes in Dekalb, IL
QUALIFICATIONS
An On-Site Maintenance Technician must possess the following essential requirements: Must have current valid driver's license (state ID not acceptable) and Social Security Card Must be available for night/weekend on-call duty as part of a weekly rotation Working knowledge of property maintenance Thorough familiarity of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, appliances and construction Excellent safety habits Good human relations skills and the ability to work well with others Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to display professional behavior and dress as required Reliable transportation Hand tools suitable for maintenance-related work a plus
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Physical capabilities to carry out job responsibilities including the ability to stand for extended periods of time, ability to walk, talk and have use of both hands, bending at the waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, climbing, walking, etc., as job may require. The ability to use a ladder as compliant with OSHA standards. The ability to lift 80-100 lbs. Sufficient manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to use a variety of tools, machinery and equipment. Accurate hearing and vision or corrected to a normal range.
RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Maintenance Duties Maintain thorough knowledge and written record of power, water and gas turnoffs, cleanout trap, fire extinguishers and fire hydrants, back checks, valves, sprinkler systems, irrigation systems, etc. Maintain a working knowledge of how the systems on each property operate and instruct the maintenance staff on these systems Oversee all aspects of property maintenance including grounds, custodial, preventative, corrective, deferred and emergency maintenance 2. Other Maintain a working knowledge of all fair housing laws, its policies and practices and be fair and consistent in upholding these and all company policies Comply with all OSHA regulations and any applicable laws regarding health, safety, lead based paint, asbestos and environment
