Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:
Garden Inn Evanston is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the hotel's facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained to the highest standards, providing a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment, systems, and facilities (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and records Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel standards Assist with renovations, upgrades, and special projects as needed Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when required
Qualifications:
Previous experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in hospitality or a similar environment Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification - required Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts if needed Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Frequent standing, bending, climbing ladders, and use of maintenance tools Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions We're an equal opportunity employer.
