Seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Planner to serve as the primary maintenance resource for a chemical manufacturing facility and distribution center in Itasca, IL. This is a hands-on role responsible for troubleshooting and repairing production and facility equipment while also managing preventive maintenance, work orders, maintenance planning, vendors, and spare parts. The ideal candidate is a strong mechanical troubleshooter who can work independently, take ownership of problems, and either resolve issues directly or coordinate the appropriate outside resources.
Must Have Skills:
5+ years of industrial maintenance experienceStrong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skillsExperience with pumps, mixers, valves, piping, motors, rotating equipment, and production equipmentPreventive maintenance and maintenance planning experienceCMMS experience; SAP PM strongly preferredBasic electrical and plumbing troubleshooting/repair skillsAbility to work independently and prioritize maintenance needsAbility to lift 50 lbs.
Job Duties:
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipmentDiagnose mechanical issues and rebuild pumps as neededMaintain mixers, pumps, motors, piping systems, valves, and other production equipmentOwn and continuously improve the preventive maintenance programCreate, manage, and complete work orders and maintain accurate equipment historyPrioritize maintenance requests based on safety, production needs, and business impactDevelop maintenance plans and schedules and manage the maintenance backlogCoordinate maintenance vendors, contractors, parts, materials, and outside servicesSupport equipment installations, improvements, automation projects, and capital projectsCoordinate maintenance support for forklifts and other outsourced equipmentMonitor maintenance costs and support maintenance-related purchasingMaintain compliance with safety and environmental requirementsWork closely with Production, Operations, Engineering, contractors, and leadershipProvide support across two shifts, including occasional overtime or off-shift/emergency support
Qualifications:
