Job Description Wishtan HomeServices is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with strong handyman abilities to join our team. This is a field-based, multi-trade role for someone who can move between property inspections and light construction work with equal competence and professionalism. This is not a single-trade job. We need someone who takes pride in quality across everything they touch — whether that's installing a door, painting a room, or completing a move-out inspection. We're growing, and this role grows with us. Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician preferably with EPA 608 Universal Certification to join our field team. Day-to-day work will span property inspections, handyman and light construction tasks, as well as HVAC service for certified techs. Responsibilities Conduct move-in, move-out, and periodic property inspections with detailed documentation Perform handyman and light construction tasks: flooring installation, door installation, blind and hardware hanging, lock changes, interior painting Perform light electrical work: outlet/switch replacement, fixture installs Diagnose and repair furnaces, air conditioners, thermostats, and related HVAC components (Certified Tech Only) Perform HVAC preventative maintenance and system installations (Certified Tech Only) Assist with unit turnovers and property preparation between tenants Maintain accurate records of all work performed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Demonstrated handyman or multi-trade experience (flooring, doors, locks, paint, light electrical) Strong attention to detail — inspection quality directly impacts owner and resident trust Ability to work independently and manage a daily field schedule without direct supervision Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Clean background check required Nice to Have Illinois electrical license or relevant experience Minimum 3 years of HVAC service or installation experience EPA 608 Universal Certification Experience with residential property management or rental housing Appliance repair or installation experience Benefits 20 days
