Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems in a clean, climate-controlled environment. You will diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime. Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems in accordance with established maintenance plans and manufacturer recommendations. Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Troubleshoot equipment failures, identify issues quickly, and respond promptly to emergency breakdowns to minimize production downtime. Conduct root cause analysis of recurring equipment problems and implement effective corrective actions to prevent future failures. Monitor equipment performance and participate in predictive maintenance activities to identify potential failures before they occur. Execute scheduled maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with production needs. Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, equipment histories, and documentation of repairs and modifications. Collaborate with production, engineering, and other maintenance team members to support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime and increasing equipment reliability. Use available tools, spare parts, and community resources to complete high-quality repairs, avoiding temporary or short-term fixes. Follow safety procedures, plant policies, and best practices while working on equipment and systems to maintain a safe work environment. Essential Skills Hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems. Strong mechanical repair skills with the ability to service and rebuild mechanical components. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment. Ability to diagnose equipment failures quickly and implement effective repairs under time-sensitive conditions. Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurring issues. Capability to monitor equipment performance and participate in predictive maintenance activities. Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment histories. Strong troubleshooting mindset with attention to detail and a focus on equipment reliability. Effective communication and teamwork skills to work collaboratively with maintenance and production teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Familiarity with automated and robotics-based production equipment (with opportunities for further robotics training). Comfort working in a clean room or climate-controlled manufacturing environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Marion, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
