General Maintenance Technician/ Back up production float

Green Meadows Foods, Inc is an Artisan jerky manufacturer with over 20 years of experience in co-packing, manufacturing, and product development. We are located in Paxton, IL 30 miles north of Champaign, IL. What are we looking for? We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of facilities and equipment by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs under direction from the Maintenance Supervisor. This role may also perform as back up for specific positions on the production floor, as needed.

JOB DUTIES

Perform Routine Maintenance:

Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Troubleshoot and Repair:

Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, repair or replace defective parts, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Respond to

Maintenance Requests:

Address emergency maintenance requests promptly to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.

Maintain Records:

Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of supplies and equipment. Collaborate with

Teams:

Work with other staff members and departments to ensure that maintenance-related issues are addressed efficiently and effectively.

SKILLS DESIRED

Technical Knowledge:

Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, along with hands-on experience in maintenance and repair tasks.

Ability to identify issues quickly and determine appropriate solutions to prevent operational disruptions. Attention to

Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed thoroughly and safely, with a focus on quality and compliance with regulations.

Effective verbal and written communication skills to relay information about equipment status and maintenance procedures to team members and management.

Physical Stamina:

Capability to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various environments.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Outside of the normal expectations within an office environment, the ideal applicant will also be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, and noise. Full mobility is required in this position as you will regularly be required to stand, sit, and walk for lengths of time. You may also be occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, crouch or crawl. Additionally, you must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and have the ability to be heard, as needed, over the noise. The role may require indoor and outdoor work, and technicians may need to be available for emergency repairs outside of normal business operation hours.
