Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, hand tools, and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters. Conduct plumbing system maintenance and repairs, ensuring all fixtures and pipes operate efficiently. Maintain HVAC systems by diagnosing issues, replacing components, and performing system repairs to ensure optimal climate control. Carry out carpentry tasks such as repairing doors, windows, walls, or other interior structures to uphold building integrity and aesthetics. Utilize welding skills for metal repairs or fabrication as needed for facility equipment or structural components. Perform maintenance painting to enhance the appearance of interior spaces while adhering to safety standards. Use schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately and execute repairs efficiently. Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols. Support facilities equipment maintenance by managing MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) supplies inventory and ordering necessary parts. Lead small maintenance projects or assist with team efforts to ensure timely completion of repair tasks. Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or occupants. Requirements Proven experience in general maintenance roles with knowledge of electrical work, plumbing, HVAC systems, carpentry, welding, and mechanical repairs. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus for troubleshooting automated systems. Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and building blueprints effectively. Skilled in electrical equipment repair and troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools. Experience with maintenance painting and building interior upkeep is preferred. Knowledge of facilities maintenance best practices for residential or commercial environments. Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and collaboration with team members. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces safely.
