We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Delivery Truck Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal performance and safety of our fleet. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trucks, delivery vehicles, and associated equipment. Your expertise will keep our delivery operations running smoothly, reliably, and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of heavy machinery and automotive systems, contributing directly to the success of our logistics team. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on delivery trucks and fleet vehicles, including diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and hydraulic systems Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, automotive electrical system diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes quickly Repair or replace vehicle components such as shocks & struts, tires, air brakes, wheel alignments, and HVAC systems to ensure safety and compliance Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques for equipment repairs and modifications Conduct heavy equipment operation tasks when necessary, including forklift operation or handling farm machinery and industrial equipment Maintain detailed service records for all maintenance activities and communicate effectively with team members regarding vehicle status Assist in the assembly or installation of new equipment or parts as needed to support fleet upgrades or repairs Requirements Proven experience in dealership automotive repair or heavy truck maintenance with a strong background in diesel mechanics and vehicle systems repair Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery is highly desirable Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for complex mechanical systems including transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other maintenance devices Knowledge of automotive diagnostics software and electrical system troubleshooting techniques Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance for trucks used in delivery operations including brake repair, suspension alignment, tire service, shocks & struts replacement Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to equipment maintenance and safety compliance Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy machinery when required Join us in maintaining a reliable fleet that keeps our deliveries on schedule!
