About the Role As a Field Service Technician specializing in commercial entryways, you will be the primary expert responsible for the installation, maintenance, and optimization of industrial door systems and loading dock hardware. You will leverage your mechanical aptitude to ensure that every facility remains secure, functional, and compliant with safety standards while delivering high-quality service to our diverse client base. Responsibilities Execute precise installations and complex repairs on a wide range of commercial doors, dock levelers, and associated hardware. Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions, providing efficient, cost-effective solutions to restore operational integrity. Configure advanced access control systems, low-voltage components, and automated door hardware to meet site-specific requirements. Ensure all completed work adheres strictly to building codes and safety regulations, prioritizing the security of the customer's facility. Maintain detailed documentation of service activities, providing clear communication to clients regarding repair status and recommended improvements. Perform rigorous quality inspections on all hardware installations to guarantee long-term performance and reliability. Qualifications Required Skills 3+ years of professional experience in the commercial or industrial door service industry. Demonstrated proficiency with hand and power tools, including the ability to read tape measures and perform precise mathematical calculations. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex hardware issues. Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting 50+ lbs, climbing ladders up to 20 feet, and working in various positions. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass background and drug screenings. Preferred Skills Current AAADM certification. Prior experience with hollow metal doors, frames, and storefront glazing. Technical knowledge of welding or a strong desire to master industrial welding techniques. Familiarity with low-voltage wiring and modern electronic access control systems.
