This job was posted by https://illinoisjoblink.illinois.gov : For more information, please see: https://illinoisjoblink.illinois.gov/jobs/13670316 The Maintenance Mechanic Technician is responsible to safely maintain, repair, replace and modify refrigeration equipment, water treatment and distribution system, hydraulic and air compressors with optimal quality and efficiency. Day to day
Responsibilities:
Installs, repairs, replaces, and performs preventative maintenance inspections on, but not limited to, refrigeration equipment, chilled water systems, hydraulics, wastewater systems and air compressors. knowledge of tools and equipment applicable to trade. Responds to emergency calls, evaluates situation, and takes corrective action. Work overtime when emergencies arise to prevent disruption of the facility. Maintains a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency. Operate CMMS system and demonstrates competency. Effectively communicate with production and other mechanics to identify problematic areas of concern; provide and receive feedback and/or support through collection and analysis of information. Must demonstrate an understanding of the company\'s objectives including productivity, yields, food safety, quality, customer service and cost goals. Supports achieving those goals. Performs daily inspections, emergency repairs, and routine adjustments; follows periodic preventive maintenance schedule. Participates on safety teams.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Expertise in effectively inspecting, troubleshooting and rectifying any issues that may arise. Interpersonal Skills, precise and timely when communicating and or delegating duties. Problem solving and analytical skills. Time Management Skills Teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements:
Must have 3+ years of experience. Must be able to understand and execute actions based on verbal and visual instructions. Previous experience with Ammonia Refrigeration Systems is a plus but not required. Effective communication skills and the ability to read, write, and speak English. Familiarity with preventative maintenance Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Mechanical experience with troubleshooting, HVAC systems, PLCs, hydraulic systems, etc.
