Maintenance Technician (Chemical Manufacturing) based in West Chicago, IL.

Employment Details :

This is a permanent, direct-hire position with openings on the 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm) and 3rd shift (10:00pm - 6:30am).

Compensation and Perks :

Requirements :

Prior experience within a chemical manufacturing facility is mandatory. We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to ensure our production machinery runs at peak performance. Primary Responsibilities Execute proactive and scheduled maintenance tasks to boost machinery uptime and overall reliability. Identify and resolve complex issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems. Service and restore industrial blenders, mixers, packaging lines, pumps, robotic units, valves, and pressurized vessels. Interpret and utilize mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic diagrams for daily tasks. Support the installation of new hardware and perform necessary adjustments to current machinery. Evaluate machine functionality to suggest enhancements that improve long-term reliability. Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor to manage parts procurement and organize repair schedules. Uphold strict adherence to PSM, OSHA, and environmental safety standards to maintain a secure workplace for the entire team. Required Qualifications Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent. At least five years of hands-on experience maintaining industrial equipment in a production setting. Proven ability to diagnose and fix pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical faults. Proficiency in deciphering electrical and pneumatic technical drawings. Practical experience with Ladder Logic and PLC hardware diagnostics. Understanding of NFPA 70E and NEC electrical safety protocols. Demonstrated history of setting up and customizing manufacturing machinery. Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) is considered an advantage.
