Maintenance Technician (Chemical Manufacturing) located in West Chicago, IL.

Employment Details :

This is a permanent, direct-hire position. We are currently filling openings for the following schedules:

Second Shift:

3:00 PM to 11:00

PM Third Shift:

10:00 PM to 6:30

AM Compensation and Perks :

Requirements :

Prior experience within the chemical manufacturing sector is mandatory. We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Technician to join our established, industry-leading team, where you will be instrumental in ensuring our production machinery runs safely and at peak performance while advancing your professional skills.

Core Responsibilities :

Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to help ensure consistent equipment uptime and operational reliability. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems. Service and repair key production assets, including blenders, industrial mixers, pumps, pressure vessels, robotic units, and packaging lines. Interpret and utilize mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics to guide repair work. Support the installation of new machinery and perform necessary modifications to current equipment. Evaluate machine performance data to suggest improvements that boost overall system reliability. Manage the procurement of replacement components and coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor to organize repair priorities. Help maintain a safe working environment by ensuring full adherence to PSM, OSHA, and environmental standards.

Professional Qualifications :

A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is necessary. At least five years of professional experience performing industrial maintenance in a manufacturing setting. Proven ability to diagnose and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Proficiency in interpreting pneumatic and electrical schematics. Practical experience working with Ladder Logic and PLC hardware. Understanding of NFPA 70E and NEC electrical safety protocols. Hands-on experience with the modification and installation of manufacturing machinery. Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) is considered an advantage.
