Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role focuses on ensuring reliable operation of production systems by working with instrumentation devices such as thermocouples, motor tachometers, temperature controllers, and pressure transducers, and by using specialized testing equipment to diagnose and correct issues. The position requires hands-on work with 480V systems, heater controls, drives, and related information systems to support safe, efficient, and continuous operations. Responsibilities Install electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation devices in accordance with diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation. Work with instrumentation devices such as thermocouples, motor tachometers, temperature controllers, and pressure transducers to support accurate measurement and control of processes. Use multi-meters, oscilloscopes, specialized testers, and machine-specific instrumentation to verify proper operation of equipment and systems. Inspect electrical and mechanical equipment, instrumentation devices, and related information systems to identify wear, damage, or performance issues. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical problems in industrial equipment, including issues with motors, drives, heater circuits, and control systems. Adjust, repair, and replace components such as bearings, hoses, air cylinders, and electrical parts to restore equipment to proper working condition. Handle work involving 480V electrical systems with attention to safety procedures and best practices. Utilize Windows XP-based systems or interfaces as needed to monitor, control, or configure equipment and instrumentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Electrical maintenance or industrial maintenance. Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance tasks in a fast-paced setting. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
