Job Description

Position Description:
The CORE X Crown facility in Crown Point, IN is seeking Maintenance Technicians at a new state-of-the-art automated, refrigerated cold storage warehousing and distribution facility. The position will primarily support electric forklift maintenance, building maintenance, CO2 refrigeration maintenance. Cross-functional training from Maintenance Supervision will be provided to support automated mobile pallet racking, and a fully automated AMR pallet storage and retrieval system that is critical to the warehousing operation. The successful candidate will have experience or knowledge of industrial refrigeration, HVAC, industrial electrical controls, metal fabrication and repair, material handling equipment, other building maintenance systems, and a high acumen for championing safety.
Responsibilities:
Maintain electric reach trucks, stand-up counterbalance lift trucks, and end-rider pallet jacks and their motive power batteries and chargers Maintain material handling equipment consisting of dock levelers, trailer restraints, sectional doors, freezer doors, pallet inverters, stretch fil wrappers, roller conveyors, and forklift material handling attachments Diagnose building and material handling equipment problems, replace or repair parts, test and make-adjustments to provide a high level of reliability and safety for warehouse operators Perform regular equipment, safety, and food safety inspections through a digital platform Regularly use hand, power, and diagnostic tools to perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility equipment Conduct troubleshooting to repair the automated systems as issues arise Rigorous attention to detail in electrical and mechanical personal safety and lockout procedures is necessary Take critical feedback and recognition positively Other duties as assigned to meet facility objectives
Qualifications:
Professional education, licenses, industry certifications in the field are a plus Ability to work under stress in evolving/ambiguous situations Strong desire to grow in the position furthering skills, knowledge, and abilities to grow your career
Electrical/Mechanical Skills:
Interpretation of electrical & control system schematics, troubleshooting of PLC controlled systems, conveyor & AMR automation control and troubleshooting, AC/DC motors and drive systems, contactors, starters, relays, switches, power supplies, transformers, electrical enclosures, sensing devices, photo eyes, scales, imagers, and wiring devices Good written and oral communication skills Strong computer and software skills to include most Microsoft Office applications, cloud-based software, mobile applications, and possess the drive to continue to learn and adopt change as these technologies evolve and new ones are introduced to the facility Physical requirements include the ability to lift 55 lbs. from the ground to chest height independently; up to 140 lbs. with assistance, sit/walk/stand for extended periods, climb staircases and vertical ladders frequently, perform aerial work in scissor lifts, and functionally work in areas with temperatures ranging from -25°F up to 100°F.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in a facilities or manufacturing technician role Electric forklift troubleshooting and repair proficiency Performing assigned and entering new work orders in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). (CORE X Partners uses MaintainX) Food environment Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and HACCP Welding repairs and fabrication using
MIG/TIG/SMAW
processes preferred Basic mathematical and computational skills A good sense of comfort working at heights ranging from ground level to 55-feet and servicing equipment on a flat roof
Education Level:
Associate degree, trade school, or equivalent experience/certification in electronics, electric lift truck maintenance, automation, manufacturing, or equivalent field OSHA 10 Hour Professional certifications/licenses preferred
Schedule:
3PM -11:30PM Mon-Fri, with occasional weekend work, and overtime as dictated by emergencies, projects, and downtime scheduling needs
