Position Summary The Floor Technician is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and restoring a variety of floor surfaces to ensure facilities remain clean, safe, and presentable. This role uses specialized floor-care equipment and follows established safety, cleaning, and quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, buff, burnish, strip, and wax floors as assigned. Clean and maintain carpeted, tile, vinyl, concrete, hardwood, and other floor surfaces. Operate floor-care equipment, including auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, carpet extractors, vacuums, and related tools. Remove trash, debris, spills, and stains from floor areas. Apply floor finish, wax, sealers, and other approved cleaning products according to instructions. Inspect floors for damage, safety concerns, and areas requiring additional service. Set up wet-floor signs and follow all workplace safety procedures. Clean, inspect, and properly store equipment and supplies after use. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when materials or equipment need replacement or repair. Assist with general janitorial duties as needed, including restroom cleaning, dusting, trash removal, and common-area cleaning. Travel between assigned work locations when required. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Required Qualifications Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Minimum of 6 months of janitorial or custodial experience . Experience with commercial floor-care equipment and floor-maintenance procedures preferred. Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to push, pull, and operate floor-care machinery. Ability to work around cleaning chemicals and in a variety of indoor work environments. Work Schedule Schedule may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays depending on facility needs. Preferred Qualifications Experience stripping and waxing floors. Experience operating auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, and carpet extractors. Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety practices. Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
