Position Summary:

The Grade Level 3 Maintenance Technician is responsible for advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility infrastructure and manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum operational uptime, safety, and efficiency. This role requires a strong mechanical and electrical skill set, the ability to independently diagnose complex issues, and the capability to lead or support technical projects. The technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, fabricate or modify tooling and fixtures, and collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve equipment reliability and process performance. This position requires a high level of technical competency, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work with minimal supervision while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret and apply blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to complete complex maintenance tasks and projects Perform advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to identify root causes and implement effective repairs Lead or support equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications to improve performance and reliability Utilize forklifts, overhead cranes, chains, slings, magnets, and manlifts to safely move materials and perform elevated work Identify, source, and recommend replacement parts, components, and materials; assist with vendor communication when needed Generate detailed parts lists, material requirements, and project plans for maintenance and improvement activities Fabricate or modify fixtures, tooling, and equipment to support production needs Resolve complex facility maintenance issues, including structural, mechanical, and basic electrical problems Complete assigned tasks and projects with minimal direction, ensuring high‑quality workmanship and adherence to timelines Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by following all safety procedures, regulations, and PPE requirements Provide guidance or support to grade 1 and 2 technicians as needed Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills:

Proficient in safe operation, inspection, and maintenance of tools, machinery, and lifting equipment Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment Ability to read and interpret work instructions, schematics, and technical documentation. High School diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications preferred 5+ years of industrial or facility maintenance experience Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems Strong functional and technical skills, including fabrication and equipment

Physical Demands:

Use of hands, fingers, and arms to grasp, feel, and reach. Frequent walking throughout the facility. Ability to sit for extended periods when required. Frequent stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
