Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Person & Caretaker to be responsible for our Religious Institution Building.. This role involves maintaining and repairing a variety of facilities and equipment to ensure smooth operations in the building and grounds/ The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills, along with experience in facilities maintenance and repair. This position offers an opportunity to work in an environment where your expertise will directly impact operational efficiency and safety. Duties Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building interior systems, HVAC units, electrical equipment, plumbing, and facilities infrastructure Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using schematics, hand tools, Ohmmeters, and CMMS software Conduct welding, carpentry, painting, and other repair tasks to maintain facility integrity and appearance in the building and grounds. Maintain HVAC systems including repairs and system upgrades Repair and maintain plumbing boiler systems, including leak detection and pipe repairs Operate and repair various mechanical equipment with a focus on safety and efficiency Use schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using CMMS or other tracking tools Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes during all maintenance activities Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance, repair, or operations (MRO) with knowledge of electrical work, plumbing, HVAC systems, carpentry, welding, and painting Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams for electrical and mechanical systems Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus Familiarity with electrical equipment repair, HVAC system repair, plumbing system maintenance, and building interior maintenance Ability to operate hand tools, electrical testing devices such as Ohmmeters, and CMMS software for work orders tracking Excellent communication skills in English; ability to work well with supervision in a Religious institution. Experience with painting or general facility upkeep including vacuuming, mopping and waxing Knowledge of safety protocols related to electrical work, plumbing, HVAC systems, and general facilities maintenance Requirement to live on the grounds in an apartment provided in the Temple Building This role is integral to maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities.
