Skilled Handyman / Construction & Remodeling Technician

Position Overview Mr. Honey Do Services NWI is seeking a highly skilled Handyman / Construction & Remodeling Technician to join our growing team serving Valparaiso, Portage, Chesterton, and the surrounding Porter and La Porte County areas. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys problem-solving, and has strong hands-on experience in residential construction and remodeling—especially kitchen and bathroom projects. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable completing a wide variety of residential repair, maintenance, and remodeling tasks while delivering exceptional customer service on-site. Key ResponsibilitiesResidential Repair, Construction & Remodeling Perform a wide range of handyman, maintenance, and residential construction tasks Complete kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects, including: Cabinet installation Tile work Fixture replacement Finish carpentry Flooring and trim work Painting Perform general home repairs and improvement services with efficiency and attention to detail Diagnose repair and maintenance issues and determine the most effective solutions Maintain strong craftsmanship and high-quality workmanship across all projects Skilled Trades Work Perform work across multiple residential trades, including: Carpentry and trim installation Drywall repair, finishing, and texture matching Painting and finishing work Tile installation and flooring Basic plumbing repairs and fixture replacement Basic electrical work such as outlets, switches, and lighting Complete jobs safely, professionally, and according to company standards Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas Customer Service & Communication Serve as a professional and personable representative of the company on job sites Communicate clearly with homeowners regarding project scope, timelines, and expectations Answer customer questions and provide solutions in a courteous and professional manner Ensure every client has a positive service experience from start to finish QualificationsExperience Prior experience in handyman services, residential construction, remodeling, or home repair Strong experience with kitchen and bathroom remodeling preferred Demonstrated ability to perform work across multiple trades independently Proven ability to troubleshoot problems and complete repairs efficiently Skills Strong construction and remodeling skills Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities Good communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Reliable, efficient, and highly organized Requirements Must have your own tools Valid Indiana driver's license Reliable transportation (truck, van, or SUV preferred) Smartphone for communication and job management within Customer Relationship Management system Ability to perform physical work including lifting, climbing, and working with tools and materials Professional, dependable, and trustworthy work ethic
