Job Description
JOB TITLE
Machinist/Maintenance Technician - Cylinder Refurbishment The Machinist / Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing precision machining, mechanical maintenance, and refurbishment of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. This position plays a critical role in ensuring component reliability and equipment performance by conducting inspections, repairs, and quality checks in accordance with established standards.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Disassemble, inspect, refurbish, and reassemble hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders.
- Perform machining operations, including turning, milling, drilling, and grinding, using manual or CNC machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical failures, identify corrective actions, and execute repairs.
- Measure components using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and bore gauges.
- Document work performed, repair notes, and part requirements accurately.
- Maintain compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and operational guidelines.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a clean and orderly condition.
- Assist with welding or fabrication tasks as required.
REQUIRED
This position requires US Citizenship.- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years of machinist or industrial maintenance experience, preferably with hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder repair.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Proficiency operating manual lathes, milling machines, and related equipment.
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor as needed.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
DESIRED:
Self-starter requiring minimal direction in completing assigned tasks.- Hydraulic cylinders rebuild experience.
- Welding experience (MIG, TIG, or stick).
- Previous work experience in manufacturing, industrial repair, or heavy equipment maintenance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in a manufacturing or industrial repair shop environment.
- Regular exposure to machinery, noise, and moving equipment.
- PPE required, including safety glasses, gloves, and additional gear as needed.
- Standing, lifting, bending, and manual handling are required throughout the shift.
