Job Title:

Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician role is centered in the production area, focusing on resolving issues primarily caused by operator errors. The role involves handling both mechanical and electrical repairs, working with components such as photo-eyes, sensors, gears, motor boxes, VFDs, servo drives, and pumps. Machines are controlled via HMI touch screens connected to Allen Bradley PLCs, with tasks ranging from simple adjustments to complex disassembly. Additionally, the technician may perform TIG/MIG welding on stainless steel and engage in custom fabrication work. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues in production machinery. Fix and maintain components such as photo-eyes, sensors, gears, motor boxes, VFDs, servo drives, and pumps. Perform mechanical repairs 50% of the time and electrical repairs the remaining 50%. Work on electrical issues, especially with new automated equipment like packaging and shrink wrapping machines. Essential Skills 3-5 years of electrical/mechanical troubleshooting experience. Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic components and conveyor maintenance. Ability to read prints and VFD experience. Sensor experience and ownership of personal tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with steam food or packaging equipment. PLC troubleshooting skills. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Porte, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.94 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
