POSITION SUMMARY

: To inspect, repair, adjust, calibrate and maintain all electrical and mechanical equipment in plant. Performs preventive maintenance as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

:

+ Inspects mill equipment at the time of malfunction, determines when immediate shut down of equipment is necessary to minimize damage.

+ Determine cause of malfunction and determine best way of making repair.

+ Make repairs as necessary. Adjusts equipment.

+ Completes reports as required.

+ Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

+ All other duties as assigned.

+ Follows all safety rules and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

:

+ Ability to communicate in English.

+ Ability to use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, counting and the use of tape measure.

+ Ability to read and understand all safety operating procedures and to use all safety features and equipment. Preferred Qualifications

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

:

+ Must possess valid, current forklift certification.

+ Ability to read blueprints.

+ Ability to use the required personal protective equipment at all times.

+ Moderate computer skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

:

+ Requires ability to walk, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend and twist.

+ Maximum unassisted lift - 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

:

+ Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.

+ The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud and requires hearing protection.

+ Safety shoes and eye protection are also required.
