Job Description
Minutemen is recruiting for an Automation/Maintenance Technician on 1st shift for a frame assembly facility.in Louisville, KY. Must have PLC programming experience to qualify for this role. Hours are 7AM-5:30PM Monday-Thursday. Pay is BOE starting at $36.00 per hour. You will program and adjust PLC's, sensors, and actuators as needed. Troubleshoot and repair all the automated machinery such as Pop lock box formers, L-bar sealers, and Econocaser case erectors. Will maintain forklifts, and other material handling equipment, and perform general building maintenance. Lead and manage the 5S activities across the facility.
Responsibilities:
Automation & Equipment Maintenance- Preventative Maintenance on all equipment
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated machinery including:
- L-bar sealers
- Econocaser case erectors
- Poplock box formers
- Automated paper feeders
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all production equipment.
- Program and adjust PLCs, sensors, and actuators as needed.
- Collaborate with production teams to improve equipment efficiency and reduce downtime. Facility & Infrastructure Maintenance
- Maintain forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Perform general building maintenance including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and minor construction.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. 5S Program Oversight
- Co-Lead and manage 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) activities across the facility.
- Conduct regular audits and follow-ups to ensure adherence to 5S standards.
- Train and engage team members in 5S practices to improve workplace organization and safety.
- Drive continuous improvement through visual management and standardized workspaces. Continuous Improvement & Documentation
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance automation and reduce manual labor.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical training.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Strong knowledge of automated packaging and assembly equipment.
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Experience implementing or managing 5S or lean manufacturing practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
