Job Description

Maintenance Technician Hebron, KY $29-31/hr (based on experience) 3rd
Shift:
10:00pm - 6:30am
SUMMARY:
This Quality Engineering position has direct responsibility for supporting strategies, plans, and goals for interfacing with the Research and Development Organization in defining Key Product Characteristics and Controls, DFMEA and PFMEA applications, and conveying quality and value-added improvements to the design department and Implementation of "Lessons Learned" from Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, and Service. In addition, this individual will lead Quality Coordination in the implementation of new Product Quality Planning, involved in such activities as Quality Gates / Reviews, product validation, Engineering Change application, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment. Performs preventive maintenance tasks that can not be assigned to operators. Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors, manufacturing engineers or other maintenance works to diagnose problems or repair machinery. Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired mechanical and electrical parts. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Lays out assembly, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Works with Facilities Manager, manufacturing engineering and supervisors to ensure operations are performed in a safe manner. Assists manufacturing engineering in improving the process and quality of existing or new equipment. Takes part in the pre-acceptance and acceptance of new machinery. Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers. Set up and operates machine tools such as the lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools. Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Must be flexible to work any shift, overtime and weekends as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED 2-3 years minimum, Maintenance technician experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of management, associates, customers, and public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, algebra, statistics and probability. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations and financial information.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; move around the plant; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The associate is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job in the production area, the associate occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and chemicals.
