Hotel Maintenance Technician Job Description Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable Hotel Maintenance Technician to ensure our property remains in top condition for guests and staff. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including steam cleaning, drywall repair, PTAC unit service, and other general hotel maintenance duties to maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities Steam Cleaning :
Perform regular steam cleaning of carpets, upholstery, and other surfaces to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the hotel.
Drywall Repair :
Inspect and repair drywall damage, including patching holes, smoothing surfaces, and repainting to ensure a polished appearance in guest rooms and public areas.
PTAC Unit Service :
Maintain and service Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner (PTAC) units, including cleaning filters, troubleshooting issues, and performing minor repairs to ensure optimal performance.
General Maintenance :
Conduct routine inspections and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks, to address issues such as leaky faucets, faulty lighting, and furniture repairs.
Preventive Maintenance :
Execute scheduled maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and extend the lifespan of hotel systems and furnishings.
Safety Compliance :
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and hotel policies, maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff.
Emergency Response :
Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies, such as plumbing leaks or power outages, to minimize disruptions.
Inventory Management :
Monitor and maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, reporting needs to management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in a related field is a plus. Proven experience in general maintenance, including steam cleaning, drywall repair, and PTAC unit servicing. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with guests and staff professionally. Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual labor as needed. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts. Work Environment The role involves working indoors and outdoors, sometimes in confined spaces or at heights. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying weather conditions may occur. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when necessary.
