Here at our facility we have a great team and group of residents that we like to call family. We are searching for just one Maintenance technician/transportation Aide to complete our team! Our vision is to be the preferred provider of care and employer of choice by exceeding the expectations of our residents and their families, creating an exceptional work environment for our staff and promoting excellence in our quality of services provided. We are looking for a full-time Maintenance technician/Transportation Aide to be a part of our incredible team and who has the same vision. Maintenance tasks include, but are not limited to, painting, minor renovations, refreshing and "making-ready" our vacant apartments, changing light bulbs, picking up trash, changing a/c filters, cleaning carpets, assisting with minor plumping and electrician tasks, assisting with minor a/c and heater tasks, unloading and organizing shipments, assisting with daily upkeep of landscaping and grounds, and assisting the Maintenance Supervisor for the campus. The Maintenance technician is ultimately responsible for ensuring the facility is maintained neatly and orderly and that everything is in working order. Transportation Aide tasks include, but are not limited to, transports residents to medical appointments and social functions; provides courier service to pickup and deliver items to and from facility; and provides residents with appropriate care and services in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan.
qualifications:
Must possess, as a minimum, a High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 1 year of experience completing maintenance duties and tasks. Must be at least 21 years of age with an acceptable driving record. Possess a current, valid Louisiana Class D Chauffeur's license. Must have no Type A violations, such as driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs, hit and run and reckless driving. Good interpersonal skills in working with all kinds of people on a daily basis.
Specific Requirements:
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served. Be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition. Must be able to transport any resident of the facility that can be transported via automobile, bus or van when needed. Must be trained or capable of being trained in "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation" (CPR) and be able to perform CPR when and if needed. Must know or be capable of being trained in the operation of a van or bus wheelchair lift and show competency. Must be capable of performing a "Daily Vehicle Safety Inspection Log" to verify the safety status of the vehicle and to report any inadequate system that may need attention to their supervisor. Must be capable of maintaining the vehicle or reporting to their supervisor an item that would need to be repaired through a reputable vehicle service repair company.
