We are seeking a Maintenance Repairer 2 to join our team. The Maintenance Repairer 2 performs experienced-level maintenance, repair, and general construction work to ensure college buildings, facilities, equipment, and systems remain safe, functional, and in good condition. The position performs a broad range of skilled maintenance duties, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, equipment, and appliance repairs. Work may include troubleshooting problems, installing or replacing fixtures and components, performing preventive maintenance, estimating materials needed for repairs, and operating a variety of tools and equipment. The position works under general supervision and performs other related maintenance duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering; OR Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
Perform general maintenance and repairs to campus buildings, facilities, and equipment using skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and related trades. Inspect buildings and equipment, identify maintenance needs, and complete routine repairs and improvements to keep facilities safe and in good working condition. Maintain and repair building systems and components, including doors and locks, lighting, fixtures, heating and air conditioning systems, and other facility equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and assist with safety inspections of buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment. Maintain and repair campus vehicles and operate a variety of maintenance equipment, including forklifts, pickup trucks, floor machines, and wet/dry vacuums. Maintain supplies and materials needed for maintenance projects, including monitoring inventory and ordering materials as needed. Provide maintenance and repair support across multiple campuses and assist with contractors, laborers, and other staff on maintenance projects, as needed.
