Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Hotel Maintenance Technician, where your expertise will keep our property running smoothly and ensure an exceptional experience for our guests. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of the hotel's facilities. Your proactive approach and technical skills will help create a welcoming environment that guests love to return to. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building maintenance talents while working in a vibrant hospitality setting. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and facilities infrastructure. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Conduct electrical work such as wiring, circuit testing with ohmmeters, and electrical equipment repair to ensure safety and compliance standards are met. Carry out carpentry tasks including maintenance painting, drywall repairs, door adjustments, and interior building enhancements. Use hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs or installations across various facilities equipment. Supervise or assist with projects involving welding, plumbing system maintenance and repair, or other specialized trades as needed. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including schematics and technical documentation for future reference. Lead or support team efforts in facilities maintenance operations while ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Respond promptly to guest requests or facility issues to uphold high standards of customer service and satisfaction. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance with a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC systems, and building interior maintenance. Skilled in using hand tools, schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting and repairs. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical equipment repair, welding techniques, residential painting, carpentry, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) practices. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; experience with HVAC system repair is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with leadership or supervising experience in a maintenance environment. Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate effectively with team members and guests. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting. Physical capability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy objects and working at heights or confined spaces as required.
