Part-Time Office & Maintenance Support Staff Summary The Office & Maintenance Support Staff helps maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming school environment while supporting the day-to-day operational needs of the building. Responsibilities include maintaining shared spaces, stocking supplies, completing organization projects, and responding to building needs throughout the day. Depending on scheduled work hours, this position may also assist with student arrival and dismissal by supporting bus line operations to help ensure students safely enter and exit the building. Part-Time Office & Maintenance Support Staff Responsibilities Responsibilities include: Keeping kitchens, common areas, and shared spaces clean, organized, and well maintained Cleaning spills and sanitizing affected areas throughout the day Disinfecting high-touch surfaces, shared materials, toys, therapy equipment, keyboards, and kitchen items Organizing and cleaning student cubbies Maintaining shared spaces including the library, OT/PT room, conference rooms, playground, and storage areas Stocking building supplies, including paper products, cleaning supplies, water dispensers, cups, and kitchen supplies Cleaning bathrooms and common areas as needed (nightly custodial services are provided; this role primarily addresses daytime needs and unexpected clean-up) Completing monthly organization and deep-cleaning projects throughout the building Assisting with general office and operational support tasks as assigned Responding to building needs to help ensure smooth daily operations Assisting with student arrival and dismissal by coordinating buses and supporting safe, efficient bus line operations when scheduled during those hours Following NLG's emergency procedures, including SOLVE strategies, First Aid, or CPR when necessary (training provided) Part-Time Office & Maintenance Support Staff Qualifications The ideal candidate is: Organized, dependable, and self-motivated Friendly, flexible, and enjoys helping others Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a team Able to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing needs throughout the day A high school graduate (or equivalent) Willing and able to complete required trainings in SOLVE, First Aid, and CPR Able to pass required background checks, including
CORI/SORI
Schedule Approximately 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate is available at least three weekdays (Monday-Friday) . Preferred coverage is 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. , though we are flexible and happy to work with the right candidate's availability. The schedule may consist of shorter daily shifts or longer shifts across three days each week. Typical business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Physical Job Capabilities Because this position supports a school serving students with autism and complex needs, physical readiness is required.
This may include:
Frequent walking throughout the building Standing, bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds Moving supplies, organizing materials, and completing cleaning tasks Responding quickly to building needs throughout the day Communicating using a company-provided walkie-talkie Remaining physically present in active school environments while students and staff are onsite All required safety and crisis-prevention training is provided by NLG.
