Full Job Description Duties/Responsibilities:
Ability to maintain GMP and food safety standards under SQF. Ability to work safely with programs such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). Equipment set-up and line changeovers and adjustments of processing and packaging equipment. Perform timely repairs of company equipment daily to insure safe, reliable operation of production equipment. Preform preventive maintenance on all processing and packaging equipment per the preventive maintenance schedule. The ability to maintain, troubleshoot, inspect and identify food processing equipment or machines in need of repair. Basic knowledge of electrical AC and DC motors and controls a plus, with some knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Welding, metal and plastic fabrication a plus. Performs general repairs to the plant. Examples may include repairing drywall, replacing ceiling tiles, repairing overhead dock doors and other building fixtures. Performs routine maintenance on building systems (replacing filters) Cleans parts and assists with upkeep of the shop. Recommends supplies and materials needed for equipment repairs and maintenance. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to follow instructions from maintenance manager or senior maintenance workers. Knowledge of general carpentry, plumbing and electrical repair a plus. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Works with other mechanics to accomplish shifts objectives and projects as directed. Must be able follow all established safety rules, policies and regulations. Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills. Including the ability to multitask Bi-Lingual in Spanish is a plus.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Related experience preferred. On-the-job training offered
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and walking. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. Must be able to lift-up to 50 pounds at a time.
