Our client, the U.S.'s largest commercial real estate services firm, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Technician to support building operations in an onsite environment in Grafton, MA . This contract-to-hire role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, troubleshooting, and monitoring of building systems while working with a variety of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other building systems. This is a great opportunity for a skilled facilities professional who enjoys troubleshooting and hands-on work and is comfortable working independently with limited supervision. The position starts on first shift for training before transitioning to a third-shift schedule.

Wednesday-Saturday, 9:00 PM-7:00 AM What You'll Do Perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on building systems, equipment, and facilities. Monitor building system operations and performance while working with limited supervision. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and other building system issues. Perform repairs and maintenance using a variety of trade skills, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, heating, and cooling. Inspect building systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire alarms, and related equipment to ensure proper operation. Respond quickly to emergency maintenance situations and coordinate additional assistance when needed. Review assigned work orders and determine the time and materials needed to complete repairs. Order necessary materials and supplies for assigned maintenance tasks. Complete maintenance, repair, and work order records as required. Inspect and oversee work performed by outside contractors, including HVAC, plumbing, cleaning, landscaping, snow removal, and remodeling contractors. Maintain building lighting systems, including replacing or repairing lighting elements and ballasts. Perform carpentry, furniture assembly, locksmith, welding, and other general maintenance tasks as needed. Support energy management efforts by helping ensure building systems operate efficiently. Follow applicable building codes, regulations, safety requirements, and company procedures. Communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, contractors, and supervisors. Provide technical guidance or informal assistance to coworkers when appropriate. Help coordinate work and assign tasks when needed. Perform other duties as assigned. What You'll Need High School Diploma or GED. At least 4 years of related building engineering, facilities maintenance, or trade experience and/or trade school training. Universal CFC certification required. EPA certification preferred. Additional certification in one or more of the following areas is preferred: electrical, mechanical, HVAC/refrigeration, process controls, mechanical power transmission, plumbing, carpentry, painting, or engine repair. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to interpret instructions, correspondence, and technical information and ask questions when clarification is needed. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond professionally to client, coworker, and supervisor inquiries. Basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Basic math skills, including calculating percentages. Intermediate analytical and practical problem-solving skills. Experience using computerized work order systems. Basic Microsoft Outlook skills. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, stooping, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs. Ability to work the required overnight schedule following completion of training.

Pay:

$33.00 - $35.40 per hour
