Painting will include interior and exterior of structures, including the vacant apartments, buildings and other surfaces. Candidates should have prior related experience with knowledge in selecting the right material for the job and possess great attention to detail in completing duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities include maintenance of heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration, fire prevention, electrical, elevators, air compressors and remodeling. Troubleshoot and repair any type of equipment. Perform safety inspections. Maintain machinery, equipment, tools, etc., in proper working condition. Required to use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment in performing duties. Perform such work as plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs. Carry out assigned duties by the Housing Manager or his or her designee, to ensure the integrity of an active preventative maintenance program. Is completely familiar with the operation of fire safety systems and participates in situations of drills and actual disasters. Maintain grounds in a clean and orderly condition. Perform snow removal as required during and after hours, evenings and weekends. Inform the Housing Manager or his or her designee and discusses operations and maintenance conditions that develop on the job, such as machinery downtime and problems that affect scheduling and completing work. Perform needed repairs in apartments as directed. Assume responsibility of evening and weekend, on call beeper coverage according to scheduled rotation. Abide by the Standards of Conduct which is the basis of the Organizational Integrity Program Compliance with Health Information Privacy (HIPPA) related laws and regulations On rotation, responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled Carry cell phone as required at all times for on-call maintenance. Painting Responsibilities Prepare apartment walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc. Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection. Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting. Tape off areas when needed. Remove paint splatters when finished. Clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns. Work on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls. Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster) Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools Apply varnish and other finishes Help prepare apartment for re-rent, install outlet light switch covers, install shades, install radiator covers, close or fill radiator wall holes with steel wool or spray foam, Covenant Health Mission Statement We are a Catholic health ministry, providing healing and care for the whole person, in service to all in our communities.
