About us Valley Plating, Inc. is a small business in
METAL FINISHING
in Springfield, MA.
Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in ensuring that the building, property, mechanical infrastructure, and processing equipment are maintained to promote an efficient, safe, and comfortable work environment. It is strongly preferred that the right candidate have hands-on experience in the industrial trades, and the ability to recognize and communicate improvement opportunties.
Hours:
Monday
  • Friday 6:00am to 4:30pm, alternating Saturdays 6:00am
  • 11:00am as well as the possibility of on-call availability.

Troubleshooting and installation of three-phase, high-voltage equipment (480V) Working knowledge of low-pressure steam systems (15 PSI) Repair and installation of plumbing systems Industrial oven/furnace control system design HVAC experience including installation and troubleshooting Familiarity with pumping systems and applicable controls Construction trades, including, but not limited to, framing, masonry, drywall, painting, roofing, basic electrical/wiring conduit bending, welding Isometric drawing and light fabrication Experience with
Microsoft Office Suite General Responsibilities/Requirements:
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical repairs
  • Completing assigned projects and routine daily tasks
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment or systems as needed
  • Collaborate with other team members to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
Work Environment:
Working at heights beyond 30 feet using ladders, scaffolding, lift equipment, etc. Ability to operate in confined spaces using appropriate PPE Ability to work in various environmental conditions, with possible outdoor exposure in all weather conditions. Working around hazardous metal finishing solutions and residue Ability to move 50 pounds or more, unassisted, use of pallet jack, etc.
