Position Summary:
Ginger Cove is currently seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to support our Facilities team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of our campus by performing preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general building maintenance. This position works closely with the Director of General Services to ensure the community remains safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for residents, staff, and visitors.
Schedule:
✔ Full-Time position ✔ Tuesday-Saturday schedule ✔ Rotating on-call responsibilities for emergency maintenance needs
What You'll Do:
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs throughout the Ginger Cove campus. Maintain building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other facility systems. Complete assigned work orders and maintenance requests in a timely manner. Perform routine inspections to identify safety concerns and maintenance needs. Troubleshoot and repair equipment, fixtures, and building components. Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in safe and working condition. Support campus safety programs including fire protection, emergency preparedness, and evacuation procedures. Assist with energy conservation efforts and identify opportunities for improvement. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. Communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, staff, and visitors while working throughout the community. Participate in required training and safety programs. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. At least five years of hands-on experience in maintenance and/ or trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, refrigeration, ground maintenance, or masonry is preferred.
Must have the ability to:
read and interpret general business periodicals/ governmental regulations, blueprints and mechanical drawings, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate with and respond to questions from groups of managers, residents, and the general public. Must possess concern, responsiveness, and tact when dealing with our senior community. Knowledge of fire safety, proper chemical handling and proper tool and equipment use. Must present self in a professional manner and strive to provide excellent customer service. Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by state regulations within the specified time frame.
