Job Description

Join our maintenance team as a Property Maintenance Technician , where you will help maintain and repair residential rental properties throughout our service area. This is a hands-on position where no two days are the same . One day may involve replacing a doorknob or repairing a damaged door, while another may involve minor plumbing repairs, troubleshooting a maintenance issue, completing repairs in a vacant unit for a new tenant, or assisting the team with an eviction or property cleanout. We are looking for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable working with their hands, and willing to tackle a variety of maintenance and repair tasks. Responsibilities Perform repairs and adjustments to rental properties to help keep them safe, functional, and properly maintained. Complete general property repairs, including minor plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, locks, doors, hardware, and other routine maintenance. Diagnose basic maintenance problems and determine the appropriate repair or next step. Complete repairs and maintenance needed to prepare vacant rental units for new tenants. Respond to tenant maintenance requests professionally and respectfully. Maintain common areas and exterior portions of rental properties as needed. Assist with property cleanouts and evictions when necessary. Travel between job sites throughout the workday as assignments require. Properly and safely use hand and power tools necessary to complete assigned work. Communicate completed work, additional repairs needed, and problems discovered while on site. Work independently when appropriate and collaborate with other maintenance and construction staff on larger projects. Skills & Qualifications General knowledge of residential property maintenance and repair. Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and general household repairs. Ability to safely and effectively operate common hand and power tools. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve. Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks. Willingness to learn and take direction when encountering unfamiliar repairs. Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with tenants, property owners, and coworkers. Dependable, punctual, and able to move between multiple properties as needed. Ability to recognize when a repair is beyond their knowledge or experience and communicate that to management rather than attempting unsafe or improper work. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who understands that these properties are both an investment for the property owner and a home for the tenant. Work should be completed with care, professionalism, and respect for both. The ideal candidate does not need to be a master of every trade. We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable performing a variety of repairs, willing to learn, able to problem-solve, and knows when to ask for assistance. This position requires someone who can work independently when necessary while also working well as part of a team. Dependability, communication, attention to detail, and pride in completed work are extremely important.
