Weekend availability required Flexible schedule preferred Overtime may be required based on business needs Position Summary Kamps is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support the safe and efficient operation of equipment within our pallet manufacturing and recycling facility. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment failures, and completing repairs to minimize downtime and support production goals. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities and experience working on industrial equipment, conveyors, forklifts, trailers, mobile equipment, or other manufacturing machinery. Candidates with welding, fabrication, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical experience are encouraged to apply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment according to established schedules. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimize production downtime. Diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions. Repair or replace defective components, motors, bearings, belts, chains, conveyors, and other equipment parts. Assist with installation, modification, relocation, and improvement of machinery and equipment. Work closely with production personnel to identify and resolve maintenance concerns. Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment logs, work orders, and parts inventories. Follow all safety requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures and proper use of PPE. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Adapt to changing priorities and maintenance needs as directed by management. Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to teamwork. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, recycling, lumber, pallet, transportation, agricultural, automotive, or similar mechanical environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Experience repairing or maintaining forklifts, trailers, material handling equipment, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, or fleet equipment is highly preferred. Knowledge of conveyors, pallet manufacturing equipment, saws, motors, gearboxes, bearings, and automated equipment is a plus. Welding and fabrication experience preferred. PLC troubleshooting experience preferred. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring instruments safely and effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Ability to work weekends, overtime, and a flexible schedule when needed. Valid driver's license required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a beneficial trait in this role
